Thankly was created to bring back meaning to the simple act of saying thanks - in a world that’s often too busy to pause. Originally created by Dr. Kate Adams, Thankly has been shaped by incredible women along the way - each adding their own touch to its journey.
Today, Thankly is led by Kathy Lam - a former management consultant who swapped PowerPoints for purpose. After years of leading corporate change across organisations, it was during her 2023 career break that she felt the pull to create something more human: a platform that helps us reconnect through the everyday power of gratitude.
Her personal journey, marked by the loss of both parents by the age of 21, shaped her deep understanding of loneliness and disconnection - something 1 in 3 Australians experience today. Gratitude, for her, became not just a daily practice but a way to reconnect, to belong, and to remind others they matter.
That’s why the renewed Thankly exists: To make everyday gratitude easy, personal, and genuinely meaningful - so saying thank you becomes less of an afterthought and more of how we show up for one another. One written card or thoughtful gift at a time.
